Where there’s passion, great things occur! On Saturday, 14 October 2023, the local legend Vița de Vie graced us with their presence at Mellowdy Studios.
Who is Vița de Vie?
Vița de Vie, a rock band originating from Romania, was established in 1996. They debuted with their album “Rahova” in 1997, infusing elements of rap, hardcore, jazz, and reggae into their tracks from time to time. Over time, Vița de Vie teamed up with notable artists like Șuie Paparude for “Zboară”, Paraziții for “Beat mort”, and Ganja and K-Gula for “O noapte”. Nevertheless, Vița de Vie remains iconic for their song “Basul și cu toba mare” (The bass and the big drum), which made a significant impact on the Romanian music scene when it was released.
Local legend Vița de Vie features Sorin “Pupe” Tănase on drums (co-founder), joined by Adrian Despot on vocals and guitar, Adrian Ciuplea rocking the bass, Cezar Popescu strumming the guitar and Mihai Ardelean mastering the keyboards.
When Legends Meet: Vița de Vie and Alternosfera at Mellowdy
The 5 of them visited our studio, delving into discussions about studio architecture, design finishes, acoustics, gear, consoles, and intricate technical aspects. It was a rich knowledge exchange, during which we gained insights and suggestions about the setup and equipment at Mellowdy Studios. Given Vița de Vie’s extensive experience, their feedback is immensely valuable to us. We were thrilled when they expressed interest in returning for future tracking sessions and we’re overjoyed by their praise and enthusiasm for the studio.
Alongside local legend Vița de Vie was Marcel and Marin from Alternosfera. You know, those cool guys who visited us in June to test the studio. We would like to thank them for their unwavering support and regular visits to our studio.
