Simon Rauland at Mellowdy: “It’s just like heaven.”

We were very pleased to have Simon Rauland come over from Frankfurt to configure and set up the last important components of the studio before launching.

Simon helped plan the studio from back in 2020.

It all started with the somewhat crazy idea of building a professional recording studio out of a barn in Thomas’ back yard in down-town Cisnadie, Romania.

Was it possible? Would it fit in? What about the neighbors? These and many other questions were running around the idea, and in the end, couldn’t stop the dream come true.

For Simon, being an audio engineer is more then just a normal job, but more like a childhood dream coming true. Since age 5 he has been making music, recording since age 12, and never stopped since. Him and Thomas had great fun planning and building the studio together. Acoustics engineer and studio designer Kristoffer Wasserberg helped out with all the technical aspects of the construction.

“I didn’t want to overload everything, but have good equipment to do the best professional recordings possible” and “my plan was to bring the best of both analog and digital worlds together”.

Finally, when almost everything was ready to go, in February 2023 Simon took a flight to Romania and spent a week making last measurements and arrangements for the studio launch.
